How will Facebook identify Fake Account?
Fake accounts on Facebook will be hunt down and deleted from the social network site to protect the identities of real profiles. This was assured by Varma, Marketing manager at Facebook India. He said that such profiles will be doubtful which have an authenticity issue – mostly the ones with no proper names, avoid using their personal image as profile pictures or have very low number of friends will be included in the list. If you do not use your Facebook account that often, then there are chances of it being deleted. The procedure requires that the account holder be made aware once of the issue, so that the user would be more active in future. This could happen that Facebook sends you an email or inbox message, asking for your identification if there are not enough friends in your profile; Verma explained.
Providing the Best Experience
Facebook has to be extremely careful when it comes to its image being the most popular social network site, having the highest number of members. This is the major reason it needs to be careful with the security issues regarding users’ profiles. This concern was also shared by Verma, who said that protection of their users’ identities is their first priority. There have been complaints about fake accounts of computer programs, which were posting spam links on other users’ accounts and generating malware upon clicking. Keeping in view the number of complaints, the social network site has decided to take action against the fake profiles, which are on Facebook to gather more likes and spread malware threat.
Moreover, advertisers should stop using this site for purpose of ‘Likes’. Facebook has started taking strict measures against such advertisers and try to keep them away from spamming others profiles. The social network site believes that the advertisers’ emphasis should be on the brand’s quality than the number of likes it gets. They should realize that generating ‘likes’ in millions will not increase the sales of their product or services.
The dependable side of Facebook
It is Facebook’s responsibility to provide security to companies that pay the social network site for their profile pages. Social network sites are favorite passage for hackers – post harmful links on the profile page of famous companies. There is also a grave chance of transmitting malware and other cell phone spyware through links, which are generated from dubious accounts. Facebook has taken this matter seriously and now keeping a strict vigilant on those profiles, which practice such activities.
