why can't i get a job?

Why can’t I get a job?! This is the question many unemployed people ask. Hmm, it can be really frustrating when you find yourself without a job and the people you are ten times smarter than seem to be getting job offers from left and right! Instead of spending hours and hours of your time asking yourself Why can’t I get a job?
You need to get into the heads of hiring managers and find out what they look for in a prospective employee – you may have all the goods, but are you sure that you are bringing them to the table?

Here are 3 possible answers to your question of Why Can’t I Get a Job?

Not Following Up
I totally get it when applicants refuse to do a follow up after an interview – you do not want to be perceived as being “desperate”; like I said, I totally get it. But I have had the opportunity to talk to a couple of hiring managers and they all said that one of the reasons why they choose to not hire some applicants is because they fail to do a simple follow up.

Please Note: Employers want to know that you are “INTERESTED” in the job opportunity, and if they do not hear from you after an interview they basically think that you are not interested in landing the job – makes sense, doesn’t it?

What to Do: After an interview, you should send a follow-up note. Even if you do not get the job, you should still send a “thanks for the consideration” note. This will definitely make you stand out.

Not Doing The Proper Research and Finding all You Can About the Company You wish to Work For

It is impossible not to beat yourself in the head and say “Why can’t I get a job?” when you do not know squat about the company you want to work for. If you wish to work for an event management company, you should know everything about event management, trends and patterns, and the company you wish to work for. Thank God for Google, simply Google the information you need and you will be good to go! Do not walk into an interview hoping to just wing it, or thinking that your good looks will get you by – understand this, a beautiful/handsome face that is unintelligent is a massive turn off ….for anyone!

Not Having Confidence
Walking into a room with an air of confidence can do wonders for you. If you are not confident, you will jump at any offer and look very desperate – hiring managers know that a person who is very confident in his or her abilities will ask for their worth. Their body language oozes of someone who is sure of his/her work performance. So, be confident!

The aforementioned reasons are 3 of the most common reasons why many job applicants seem to find it exceptional difficult to find a job. Be confident, smart, follow up and with the right attitude, you will land your dream job in a short time and you will not have to be one of those people who keep saying why can’t I get a job?
